A Child's Prayer

For almost a year our little Nickolas has prayed for two things every single time he prays. First, that we can have another baby. Second, that he'd lose a tooth. His prayers finally got answered when his tooth finally came out!! He was so excited when he got a wiggly one towards the end of the school year. He was the last of his grade and is kind of old at 7 1/4 to just barely be losing his first tooth but our dentist assured us every visit that he did have adult teeth waiting in the wings. Nick didn't know that once it gets wiggly it still takes awhile to come out and that it actually hurts that whole time. He didn't like that part at all. Last week he was telling me how much it hurt and I told him to just keep wiggling because once it's out, it doesn't any longer. Luckily, the very next morning it came out while he was eating his cereal. I've never seen a boy so relieved and so happy to have a tooth out! I'm so thankful that his sweet faith-filled prayers have been answered. That precious smile of his is so wonderful to see, even if it's now a little emptier than it used to be.
