Day 5: The Beach!

Since it was still so hot we decided to hit the beach. Ben wanted to head up to the beach he grew up on so we went to the Santa Monica Beach. It was the perfect day! The sand was even hot so the water didn't seem as cold. We all had such a fun time playing in the water, except for Kade who said the waves were scary. He did love the sand though and was completely covered the entire time we were there! Alexis was annoyed that I kept trying to put her feet in the water but seemed to enjoy all there was to see and loved feeling the sand in her feet. Nick is a boy with my true heart and loved playing in the waves and being crazy! Skylar was such the beach babe and was totally laying out and catching the rays (beneath the major layers of sun screen I piled on!) The kids loved building sand castles and burying each other. We had such a great day! Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE the beach? After the beach we drove a few miles to see the houses where Ben lived as a kid. We took a shot at one of them but his parents weren't sure on the address of the other one so we just drove around to see if he recognized any, which he didn't. It was fun to see where my sweet hubby spent his early childhood.
