Our kids thought that going to Disneyland on St. Patrick's Day would be the coolest. It actually was just an average day, maybe a little more crowded than usual, with a lot of people wearing green. It was still fun to go on a holiday. This was our early day where we could go in an hour earlier than the park opened. Of course, we ended up being a half hour late. The girls wanted to meet the princesses so we split up. The boys did "boy rides" & had some major bonding. It's a rare thing to have these boys get along so very well...I love when the do.
Us girls headed the Princess Fantasy Faire and lined up as close as to the entrance as we could...a half hour early. Then when they opened it up Skylar booked it to get to be the second person in line. How awesome is that? That half hour probably saved us an extra hour wait to see those pretty ladies. Plus, being second in line, they spent some extra time with my sweetie girls. First we met Belle. Alexis was in awe, totally willing to shower plenty of affection on one of her favorite princesses:
Alexis was so in awe that she didn't want to leave, of course. Belle was kind enough to escort her to the next princess, Tiana. Alexis was happy for a moment but then got choked up knowing she'd have to leave on from Tiana too. She started to cry.
After we finally coaxed her over to Ariel, she was happy...until goodbye time came again. A princess just shouldn't have to leave her fellow princesses. I love that my princess Alexis is such a girl sometimes. I also love that Skylar was still excited about meeting them too. She's growing up too fast and I know she won't want to next time. I'll take all the princess time with my girls I can get.
After getting through the princess line so quickly we decided that lining up early was the way to go so we headed over to the opening of Toontown where we met up with the boys. Once again the kids ran & got in line...second to meet Mickey Mouse. It's always like an hour wait for Mickey so we were so excited we could see him so quickly!
The family & the Mouse!
Awww....Alexis loves "Mickey Mouse!" We love Minnie too!
Excited to meet Goofy!
Some of my favorite picture backgrounds:
Our last picture in front of the California Adventure Golden Gate Bridge (they're tearing it down. boo!)...now we need to go to the real one! Meet 'n Greet with Chip & Dale
Skylar still got soaked on Grizzly Rapids...even with a poncho!
On the pier:Isn't it awesome how much kids always love carousels the best? But King Triton's Carousel is the best of the carousels.
At a Bugs Land:
They weren't doing anything at all for St. Patrick's Day at either of the parks. In Downtown Disney they had a scavenger hunt. The kids loved hunting for some treasure.
Back at Disneyland for the night.
Sleeping Beauty's Castle at dusk:
Dumbo!
We are crazy and stay at the park every night until closing. Pirates of the Caribbean is always the best then because there's never a line and you have the ride completely to yourself! Since it's everyone's favorite we love ending the day with it. Some of us didn't quite make it that night.
