Day 1 & 2: Vegas, Leslie's, & Our Condo

Day 1 & 2 are combined since they mostly involved driving. Oh how I wish it didn't take so long to get there...but then I'd go all of the time!! On our way to California we had to stop for a night in Las Vegas. Since we never spend much time there we took the kids to see the Forum shops in Ceasar's Palace. Skylar is really into Greek mythology right now so she loved seeing all the statues of people she could identify. I was pretty impressed by her! We spent the night in a really nice Hampton Inn...except for the fact that it was practically on the landing strip at the airport. We didn't sleep too great but Nick absolutely loved watching the planes land at the break of dawn.

We always love seeing Leslie, one of my oldest friends since high school, and her family when we go to California. In years past they've been able to meet us at Disneyland, but this year they didn't have season passes. Instead they invited us over for a yummy dinner at their house the night we got to Orange County. Our kids had so much fun together and so did we. Thanks Leslie & Wade for having us over!!
I guess I'll show off the condo we stayed at on this post. For Christmas in 2009 my parents gave all of us kids one of their time share weeks. We have saved it all of this time knowing that this trip was planned to celebrate Kade's #5. I seriously looked for months to find an open spot the week that we needed it and then finally lucked out with booking this condo. We only had to pay the transfer fee which was seriously cheap. Thanks mom & dad!!

This is by far one of our favorite condos we've ever stayed at. It was located in Capistrano Beach, right on the PCH, and directly across the street from the beach. It was so awesome waking up to the sound of the surf every morning. The only non-awesome thing was waking up to the train that went right by sometimes late at night, but other than that, we loved it!The decor inside was so beachy and nice. If you know me, I totally dig the beach theme so I really felt at home. I forgot to take pictures inside. Oops! It was so nice eating some of our meals out on the balcony with our oceanview. The view from it was amazing!!

We used the catwalk in this picture to get to the beach & it was so fun swimming in that pool with the ocean right there. These pictures really show just how close to the beach we were.

We only got to see one sunset while we were there since we were usually off on one of our adventures at sunset. It was absolutely beautiful!

What a great place this was to stay! Thanks again Mom & Dad for the most awesome Christmas present ever!!
