Weekly (or two) Wrap-up

So the winter has turned into a blur of being cooped up and getting stir crazy. It just seems as one day blends into the next at this point. As usual, we've been busy. Last week it was our turn to do Joy school, which we haven't done at our house for awhile. We had fun learning about trying and confidence. The kids even made crazy cake: bread, peanut butter, jelly, honey, raisins, chocolate chips, nuts, etc, and the kids devoured it! I never knew slapping some stuff together would prove so appealing to a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds.
The weather we had last week certainly made me so excited for spring. Bring on the flip flops!! We even made a trip or two to the park. It was so nice to be outside! I also took the kids to the gym and let them get out all the gobs of energy they've been storing up.

The big event of the last week or so was Ben quitting his job. He got a new job offer from a friend who has been trying to get him to come work with him for awhile. The timing worked out perfect as his last job was moving their office to Draper this week which we weren't too excited about him having to commute. His new office is once again within biking distance so he may get back to that as soon as the weather improves more. He is working at Orange Soda, which I believe, is an online marketing company. I probably shouldn't be quoted on that. Anyway, he will be the Web Design Manager, which he is excited to get back to more design work. Today is his first day of work so I'm hoping he's loving it!
Skylar had school off yesterday so Ben decided to take an extra day off too so we could do something fun as family (and he could get a breather between jobs). We went up to SLC to go to the Living Planet Aquarium. It was pretty cool, although really small, since it is only a preview exhibit. It definitely does not compare to other aquariums that we've been to out of state but for being in Utah, I guess I can't complain. They had a big section on Utah fish and then a section with jellyfish, sharks, and they even had rays that you could pet. We had a lot of fun! Afterwards, we headed for our favorite store, IKEA, where the kids got to play and Ben & I continued to try and figure out our bedroom completion project. We also ate dinner there . What a fun day and a nice break to the same old, same old!
